She can get anxious when she is left alone so she would do great with someone that can be with her most of the day. She loves to be snuggled against a human while they are on their computer or watching television so she would probably be best with someone that works from home or is retired. Holly’s very favorite activity is cozy couch cuddles! She is well behaved in a crate but after spending most of her life in a kennel, this girl deserves to be pampered on a bed or couch. She probably could learn to live with a cat but she has tried to chase the ones she met. She can get scared of large dogs and bark at them. Sometimes she will cuddle next to the senior Chihuahua in her foster home. She likes the company of other small dogs as long as they do not try to jump on her. Since she was used as a breeding dog, Holly never learned to play with toys or other dogs. ![]() She loves her snacks- so her treat intake needs to be monitored as well. Keeping her trim will be beneficial for her patellas. Holly has lost weight since coming into rescue and is now 20 lbs. Steps to help her get on and off the couch would be good for her as well as regular walks. She has two low grade luxating patellas but they do not require surgery. She is very trusting and will often roll over for a belly rub!Īt 6 years old Holly is healthy and heart clear. When she is out and about her tail starts wagging as soon as she sees people and she sits nicely when they pet her. While she is not a very energetic dog, she enjoys going for leisurely walks and has good leash manners. Holly loves attention and meeting new people. Her usual state is a big smile and a full body wag. After having worked as a breeding dog on a Lancaster County farm her whole life, this delightful 6-year-old girl is ready to start her new life in a forever home.
